Regional Coordinator Enviroschools (Lead) Position

Otago Regional Council is looking for a Regional Coordinator Enviroschools (Lead) to join the team on a permanent, part-time (30 hours per week) basis, based in Dunedin.

The Enviroschools Regional Coordinator (Lead) plays a vital role in the integrity, success, and direction of Enviroschools both in Otago, and as part of a national team.

The role has two main purposes:

  1. Manage the Enviroschools programme throughout Otago, including ongoing coordination of the Regional Coordinator (Central), and all Otago Enviroschools facilitators, supporting them in running the programme in schools and early childhood education centres
  2. To connect Enviroschools Otago at a strategic level with regional and district/city councils, and other relevant agencies, in conjunction with Regional Coordinator Central.

As a Regional Coordinator Enviroschools (Lead), you will be responsible for:

  • Training and coordinating Enviroschools facilitators
  • Connecting Enviroschools Otago at a strategic level with regional and district/city councils, and other relevant agencies
  • Work with the facilitators to organise and run regular hui for teacher professional development and student extension experiences
  • Connecting with relevant agencies and community groups to link them to Enviroschools and identify ways to work together
