Aorere Kindergarten journey to become Kai- Āwhina O Te Puna

A Curious Mind Fund provided an opportunity for kaiako and tamariki to deeply engage with the concept of Kai-Awhina O Te Puna, Waokauri Creek at Aorere Kindergarten, in collaboration with community experts and neighbouring Enviroschools. The entire learning context has provided rich opportunities for young tamariki to explore the natural environment and engage in scientific learning.

Indigenous Lens helps enrich learning for sustainability

Recently Aorere College has looked back on a busy year of growing knowledge and understanding around kai. Kaiako at the college, explain aspects of learning and action they have navigated, the support from experts and the community, their mahi and next steps.
