Knowing our stories – Mairtown Kindergarten

Kaiako Anne, from Mairtown Kindergarten has been on a journey of exploration and building connection with local hapū as part of a teaching scholarship. Anne has generously shared some of this and the subsequent, resulting visit to Mairtown Kindergarten from representatives of Patuharakeke Iwi bringing a toanga, Rangimaria, the skeleton of a pilot whale.

No-dig gardens engage tamariki

A no-dig garden is one of the many ways that tamariki are being supported in growing healthy soils, bodies and minds at Arohanui Early Learning Centre in Kerikeri. Preparing the garden involved many barrow-loads of leaves along with questions and laughs.
